Time to Play Catch

You know you loved playing catch as a kid. Now you can play a different type of catch when you rent a boat from Boat Up and go on a fishing trip. Secure your boat now so you can get started catching as soon as you get to the area.

As the saying goes, there are plenty of fish in the sea – or Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico – so you’re sure to be happy with whatever you haul in.

If you know where to go, you can get going. But if you don’t, no problem. The friendly folks at Boat Up can help you decide on the best places to go whether inshore of farther out in deeper water.

Inshore fishing is great near bridges and in grass flats where fish like to hide, looking for food of their own. Four bridges are easy to get to – Marler Bridge on the Destin end of Okaloosa Island, Brooks Bridge on the Fort Walton Beach side, Mid-Bay Bridge that crosses the Bay from Niceville to Destin and the Clyde Wells Bridge that crosses the Bay from Freeport to South Walton County. The jetties that lead from the Bay into the Gulf are also a good gathering spot for fish.

If you go into the Gulf, check out reef locations for good fishing. Be sure to ask for advice on the best places to go for the best results. Now go play catch and be sure to tell your friends about the great game of catch you had.
