Inshore waters of Choctawhatchee Bay are great for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sea Trout and Sheepshead. Areas near the bridges, such as Marler Bridge, Mid-Bay Bridge and Brooks Bridge. Grass flats are also great places to catch fish.

Farther out into the Gulf, you may want to fish for bigger catches, such as Grouper, Cobia, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, etc. If you come in June, you may want to plan your trip around Red Snapper season, which is very short. At this time, no dates have been announced. Typically, the season starts the first week of June and runs through the end of July. This applies to Florida’s state waters in the Gulf of Mexico. Other coastal states may have different dates, so be sure to check Florida’s dates.
